Service Advisory: EOS 1-DX Mark 2 and SanDisk CFast cards

Canon has announced that when the EOS-1D X Mark II is used with some SanDisk CFast cards, image corruption can occur. The issue is card, rather than camera related and a work around is to shoot a few extra non-critical frames before powering the camera down. These may corrupt, but this will prevent and critical images for being harmed. Canon is considering releasing a firmware update to address the problem.

Nikon issues service advisory for D750

Nikon has announced a service advisory for the flare issue that is occurring with the D750. The problem is identified: “when photographing scenes in which an extremely bright light source, such as the sun or high-intensity lighting, is positioned near the top edge of the frame, flare with an unnatural shape sometimes occurs in images.”

Nikon issues service advisory for D810

Nikon has issued a service advisory for the newly released D810 SLR. Certain serial numbers of the camera are having issues with “bright spots” appearing in images while shooting long exposures. Nikon has identified the problem: “We have determined that some noise (bright spots) may on occasion be noticeable when shooting long exposures, and in images captured at an Image area setting of 1.2× (30×20)”.
