SeaCam D100, 1Ds, 1V orders accepted

A message from Stephen Frink:

Seacam Austria has announced that we are now able to accept orders on the following new housings:

* Seacam for Nikon D100
* Seacam for Canon EOS1Ds
* Seacam for Canon EOS1V

You will note that the Fuji S2 housing is not on this announcement. It is delayed 30-45 days, but we remain extremely committed to this platform. Expect midsummer introduction for the Fuji S2 housing.

As you not doubt know by now, Seacam produces underwater housings of extreme quality, with unique swivel-45 degree and S180 viewfinders to provide magnified 1:1 viewing for select SLR cameras. This is not a mass-produced product and requires considerable hand-finishing on each casting. Consequently, Seacam COO Harald Hordosch was reluctant to allow us to accept any orders prior to accurate ship dates.

He is now comfortable saying that housings will start arriving in the United States around June 1st. Still, it will be first-come-first-served in terms of delivery.
To be fair to all those who have inquired about housing availability we have chosen this method of general announcement so all know at the same time that orders may be taken.

One final observation on pricing: Seacam Austria has long distinguished between their "Pro" and "Semi-Pro" housings in terms of standard equipment. For example, the F5 was considered Pro, and came standard with a moisture alarm and MSC switch, while the F100 was Semi-Pro and offered these as options.

Personally, I find this an insignificant distinction as all housings are the same quality, and with an S180 or S45 viewfinder, an F100 is the same kind of Pro tool as an F5. And in reality, we have never sold a housing WITHOUT a moisture alarm and an MSC switch. Still, we have to follow the Seacam international pricing convention. So, please note that the Seacam D1X, F5, EOS1V, and EOS1Ds housing come standard with moisture alarm + MSC. The F100, D100, and Fuji S2 will offer these as options. We assume you'll want them on your housing, but keep that in mind as you compare pricing options, apples-to-apples.
